Families can go at their own pace when they Pedal the Parks in Burr Ridge, Sunday, Sept. 8.
“This is not any type of race,” emphasized Jamie Janusz, superintendent of finance for the Burr Ridge Park District and liaison to the Community Park Foundation, which will benefit from the ride. “This is a touring event.”
Participants will meet at the Burr Ridge Community Center in Harvester Park, 15W400 Harvester Drive, and bike to Stevens Park, Palisades Park and Whittaker Park, then back to Harvester Park. The total ride is 10 miles. Registration is from 7:30-8:45 a.m. The ride runs from 9-11:30 a.m., followed by a party, noon-1 p.m., with bagels, fruit, drinks and music.
“This event is entirely sponsored by CNH — Case New Holland of Burr Ridge,” Janusz said.
The cost is $25 for ages 12 and up, $15 for ages 11 and under, and $60 for a family of up to four. Each participant receives a T-shirt.
