A DuPage County judge will allow Hinsdale Township School District 86 Board member Dianne Barrett to file a third amended complaint in her lawsuit against the School Board while district attorneys will seek a sanction to recoup legal costs. District 86 attorney James Petrungaro said the board will seek sanctions from Barrett and her attorneys for the defense of what he called “a meritless motion.” District 86 board members had previously discussed the possibility of being reimbursed by Barrett for legal costs incurred. Users of Lions Park Pool in Clarendon Hills will see the first of some new additions when the pool opens for the season at 11 a.m. May 26. A new diving pool, water-play feature and bubbler splash pad all are part of the projected $1.3 million in improvements planned for the pool by the park district, although some of the additions won’t come until the fall. Local celebrities put on their dancing shoes and hit the dance floor at the inaugural Dancing for Seniors: A Blockbuster Gala. More than 250 attendees turned out for the benefit hosted by the DuPage Senior Citizens Council on April 21 at the Hilton Lisle/Naperville hotel. The event raised $50,000 for the organization.
