West Suburban girls take basketball championship

On Feb. 24, the Inferno seventh-grade girls basketball team won the 2013 West Suburban Girls Basketball League Conference Championship.
After going 16-4 and finishing second in the regular season, giving up the least points allowed by any team, the girls won their league tournament, beating the number 3 and number 1 seeds, each by 12 points, enroute to the title.
The league title wraps up a great winter season where the team won two of the three non-conference tournaments they entered and finished the season with a 26-9 record.
