Clarendon Hills police blotter for Aug. 13

The following incidents were listed among the official reports of the Clarendon Hills Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination.

ALCOHOL

Dante Coleman, 19, of 7719 Woodward Ave., Woodridge, was cited under local ordinance for unlawful possession of alcohol at 11:56 p.m. Aug. 10 at Prospect Park, 315 Chicago Ave.

BURGLARY

A purse was reported stolen and credit cards that were inside the purse fraudulently used at 11:30 a.m. Aug. 11 on the first block of Norfolk Avenue. The purse was taken from a locked vehicle; the vehicle’s window was broken to gain entry.

PROPERTY DAMAGE

Four mailboxes were reported broken or knocked over between 6 and 8:30 a.m. Aug. 9 on the 200 and 300 blocks of Woodstock Avenue. One mailbox was knocked over during the same time period on the 400 block of Traube Avenue.

THEFT

A red and white Honda motor scooter was reported stolen at 2:28 p.m. Aug. 9 on the 400 block of 55th Street. The motor scooter was on display for sale and was secured by a chain, which was broken when the motor scooter was stolen.

A watched valued at $16,000 was reported stolen in November or December of 2011 from a home on the 300 block of Ridge Avenue. The incident was reported to police at 5:18 p.m. Aug. 6.

A Mercedes SUV that was reported stolen between 6 p.m. Aug. 9 and 6:30 a.m. Aug. 10 from unlocked garage on the 400 block of 57th Street was found about one-half mile away, with no damage and nothing taken. The vehicle was left unlocked with the keys in the ignition.
