CLARENDON HILLS — Work is continuing on a new diving pool that is scheduled to be open for the late-May start of the 2013 Lions Park Pool season.

The diving pool will feature 1-meter and 3-meter diving boards along with a drop slide directly into it. The diving pool is being installed at the north end of the pool grounds in what was a grass area.

The baby pool is being replaced with a bubbler splash pad, featuring pop jets, a fog jet and an upstream jet.

These additions are part of Phase 2 in a two-year improvement of Lions Park Pool by the Clarendon Hills Park District.

Phase 1 improvements, completed for 2012, included a water play structure that replaced the mushroom in the zero depth area. The new water play structure features a slide and various other water spray amenities.
