Contested races in Downers Grove Township

HINSDALE — The following Downers Grove Township positions will be up for election April 9: supervisor, assessor, town clerk, highway commissioner and four trustee seats.
Democrat Karol Sole is challenging incumbent Frank Wurster for the supervisor position.
Democrat Christine Hotchkin and Laura Hois will compete for clerk.
Democrat Christopher English will challenge incumbent Lawrence C. Anderson for highway commissioner.
Democrats Megan McCarthy Schroeder and James Boyce filed to run for township trustee, along with incumbents Lorraine Grimsby, William J. Swanston, Mark D. Cuthbert and Kathleen Abbate.
Theresa Cockrell also is seek re-election as township assessor.
This information was provided by the township office and the chairman of the Downers Grove Township Democratic Party. Township Clerk Diane Konicek was not available to report who had filed nominating petitions. ~.
