CLARENDON HILLS — The annual Tree Lighting and the Chamber of Commerce’s Christmas Walk kicks of the holiday season.

The events begin at 6 p.m. with the annual tree lighting ceremony and caroling at Village Hall. Additional events run until 9 p.m.

Santa is due to arrive at 7 p.m. in the Sloan Triangle in downtown Clarendon Hills.

A game to help Santa find his sleigh features a card to be filled out by participants who can get clues in several downtown stores.

There will also be sleigh rides, a toy soldier mime, strolling carolers, and special offers at several stores.

The park district is sending its team of elves on a drive throughout the village from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Dec. 18 in an effort to designate houses with the best decorations.

Prizes from J. Fleming’s Absolutely Delicious in Westmont will be awarded to the winners.

Christian Church of Clarendon Hills also has scheduled The Christian Children’s Center presentation of the story of Jesus’ birth in song, scripture and student memorization from 5:45-7 p.m. Dec. 20.
