CLARENDON HILLS — Voters Nov. 6 overwhelmingly supported a referendum giving the village authority for electrical aggregation in Clarendon Hills.

With all 10 precincts reporting, 2,822 votes, or 71 percent, were in favor of electrical aggregation; 1,158, or 29 percent, voted against it.

The village was seeking authority to arrange for the supply of electricity for residential and small commercial customers who do not opt out of the program.

Electrical aggregation allows communities to buy bulk electricity for its residents and small businesses in an effort to save them money on bills.
