Hinsdale Middle School presents its annual one-act plays at 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday in the commons area of the school, 100 S. Garfield Ave.
This marks the 18th year for the one-act-play presentation at HMS, said Rick Dusek, one of three directors involved. Dusek said the one-act plays offers three separate performances, involving 25 total students.
“The one-acts are a way for kids who maybe aren’t involved in the musical here to do some acting,” Dusek said. “We focus more here on drama than music.
Seventh-grader Jack Franco and eighth-grader Kiersten McCaffrey both have been involved in musical productions at HMS and are looking forward to participating in the one-act plays.
“I kind of like to act and was in the musical, which was fun, but I wanted to try something different,” Jack said.
Kiersten also said she thought taking part in the one-act plays would be a good experience.
“This is my first year doing it,” she said. “I really like acting. I have done the musicals and like those, but this is a different kind of experience. It’s a smaller cast, so you feel closer to everyone.”
