More than 1,000 fashionistas headed out to Oakbrook Center on Sept. 6 to participate in Fashion’s Night Out.

For the third year, Oakbrook Center took part in the worldwide celebration that brings together fashion, shopping and music while kicking off the fall season of style.

“We are thrilled that this event is really catching on,” said Suzanne Cook-Beres, senior marketing manager at Oakbrook Center. “This is a global event and even with Michigan Avenue hosting a number of fantastic events, we’re duplicating that environment right here in our local neighborhood.”

Professional models displayed fall styles from local retailers in an informal fashion show around the fountain.

Anthony Vince Nail Spa set up a nail bar while Zazu Salon and Day Spa offered hair and makeup demonstrations. A disc jockey pumped out popular music and restaurants contributed light bite nibbles. The first 300 attendees received a Fashion’s Night Out glam bag.

As in the past few years, organizers set up the popular photo shoot, Inspire Your Inner Fashionista, with proceeds going to Aspire, a Westchester-based charity working with children and adults with developmental disabilities and their families.

More than 50 retailers participated in the event offering trunk shows, models, register-to-win programs, incentives and gifts with purchase.

“The night was really electric,” said Cook-Beres. “There was so much going on.”~.
