History:

The Village of Clarendon Hills was incorporated on January 22, 1924 and like other nearby towns, came to be because of a Burlington & Quincy Railroad track that was built in what is now known as Illinois' western suburbs. According to the Clarendon Hills Historical Society, Henry Middaugh became one of the town's founding fathers when he purchased acres of land from the railroad known in 1873 as West Hinsdale.
