St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital’s annual Four Stars of Chicago Restaurant Extravaganza offered a feast for 850 guests at its 20th annual gourmet spread on April 8 held inside the Sheraton Chicago Hotel & Towers.
Emceed by WMAQ-Channel 5 news anchor Allison Rosati, the evening offered delicacies donated by 19 area restaurants.
Since its inception in 1962, St. Jude has been at the forefront of research. Based in Memphis, Tenn., the hospital has aided in increasing survival rates of pediatric cancers, like childhood leukemia, from 4 percent in 1962 to 94 percent today, and has increased overall cancer cure rates from 20 percent to above 80 percent.
The event raised more than $650,000 bringing the twenty-year total to $9 million dollars.
