Derby Day

The Hinsdale Auxiliary of Children’s Home + Aid will host its 59th Annual Kentucky Derby Post Party on Saturday, May 3 at the Hinsdale Golf Club, 140 Chicago Ave., Clarendon Hills. The evening will include dinner, dancing, raffle and silent and live auctions. Radio personality Eric Ferguson will serve as auctioneer. Tickets are $150 a person, $1150 for a table of 8 or $1450 for a table of 10. There will be a VIP pre-party from 4:30pm-6:30pm. BEDS Plus Prom

Beds Plus will host its annual Beds Plus Prom on Saturday, May 3 from 7-11 p.m. at The Community House, 415 W. Eighth St., Hinsdale. Prom-themed activities will include retro dance floor with DJ, coronation of Prom King and Queen, awards for best dressed, live auction, open bar, hors d’oeuvres and dessert. Tickets are $100. Make-A-Wish Ball

The Make-A-Wish Wish Ball 2014 will be held Saturday, May 3 at Soldier Field, 1410 Museum Campus Drive, Chicago. Salute gala

Advocate Christ Medical Center will hold its 2014 Salute Gala:Fire & Ice on Saturday, May 3 at the Chicago Marriott Downtown, 540 N Michigan Ave, Chicago. The event will feature a keynote address from Dr. Ian Smith and will recognize the physicians of the Heart and Vascular Institute as the 2014 Outstanding Physician Honorees. Brunch and fashion show

Chicago House will host its 27th Annual Spring Brunch and Fashion Show at the Harold Washington Library, 400 S. State St, Chicaog, Sunday, May 4 from 12 – 3:30 p.m. The afternoon includes brunch, silent auction and a fashion show presented by local boutiques and student fashion designers from Columbia College. SEASPAR concert

SEASPAR will present the Chicago-based band 7th heaven on at 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 8 at the Tivoli Theatre, 5021 Highland Avenue in Downers Grove. Veterans dinner

Catholic Charities will hold its third annual “Veterans in Need” dinner 5:30 p.m. Friday, May 9 at the Union League Club, 65 W Jackson Blvd, Chicago, to raise funds for its Veterans services. Former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and Chief of Naval Operations Admiral Michael G. Mullen will be the keynote speaker. Proceeds will benefit programs aiding veterans with housing, substance abuse recovering and job placement throughout Cook and Lake Counties. Tickets are $200. The Frank Lloyd Wright Trust will hold its 40th annual architectural housewalk on Saturday, May 17.
