Park District of La Grange holds a Mom & Son’s Night Out, Friday, May 2.

There are plenty of father-daughter events. Mothers and their boys like to have fun together, too. That’s why Teresa Skrzynski, community programs and marketing supervisor of the Park District of La Grange, planned Mom & Son’s Night Out, 6-8 p.m. Friday, May 2 at the Recreation Center, 536 East Ave.

“We’re doing a little twist,” Skrzynski said, noting that the daddy-daughter dances tend to be dress-up occasions. “We’re doing the opposite. They get to come into the gym and play a bunch of different games — basketball, dodgeball.” There will also be dancing to music provided by a DJ.

A pizza dinner will be served and each mom/son couple will receive a souvenir photo.

“This is a good way for moms to get their special bonding time with their little boys,” Skrzynski said.

The cost is $45 for resident couples, $59 for nonresidents and $20 per additional child. Registration deadline is Friday, April 25.
